Under Construction
The Regional Arts & Culture Council presents Under Construction, an installation by Portland artist John Larsen in the Portland Building Installation Space, September 14-October 16, 2009. The Portland Building, located at 1120 SW 5th Avenue, is open to the public from 7am - 6pm, Monday through Friday.
Larsen will arrange various commonplace objects cast in white chocolate about the space in a haphazard fashion. Imagine coffee cups, extension cords, electrical sockets and floor molding made of chocolate. By transforming the mundane into the fantastic, he is encouraging employees and visitors to the building “to find the sublime in everyday spaces” using the enticing and seductive qualities of chocolate.
